Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie

Posted on 31st May 20168th June 2016 by swanny

It’s half term and what better to do that to put your feet up with a bowl of popcorn and watch a movie with the squidgy terrors in your life?! That’s what I did with my Boo today! Home made popcorn and all! We downloaded Snoopy & Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie (20th Century Fox). Boo really wanted to watch this at the cinema, but due to being crazy busy around that time, we missed it! We were kindly gifted a code from The Mumsnet Bloggers Network to review and as you can imagine, when I asked him, he jumped at the chance.

As a child, I loved Snoopy. It was one of those shows that all the family would watch and enjoy. Woodstock and Snoopy in their imaginary world and getting away with murder and poor accident prone Charlie Brown generally failing at everything! I wasn’t sure about how this would compare, as many of the recent reboots/remakes of popular retro shows have been questionable, however, it was exactly what Snoopy always was, funny, silly, good story line and filled with many ‘awwww’ moments.

Without spoiling the story, it’s about Charlie Brown falling in love with the new girl with red hair. He’s besotted by her and he tries all sorts of ways to gain her affections and become a winner. You’ll have to watch the movie if you’d like to see if he gets the girl or not!

There are lots of funny moments in the film, but our favourite part was Snoopy and Charlie Brown dancing. it was really funny and as always, Charlie managed to mess things up unintentionally!

Boo said he loved the film and said he gives it “1 million out of 10 as that means it’s superb!” So there you have it folks! A hit with the little one. I really enjoyed it. It really brought me back to my childhood and stayed true to all the characters. Definitely a hit all round!
