Earlier this week, YouGossip, a new media sharing site with a difference was launched. The website allows users to upload their their multi-media and make money from their posts. This isn’t very different, you might say. However, while you make money, you are also making money for charity!
Founded by Glen Morgan and Ron Czyscon, the pair were inspired when they read about Stephanie Gordon, who sold her photo of the NASA take off to the Washington Post for $200 and missed out on impression revenues which rocketed into the hundred thousands. They saw a “huge opportunity to help users harness their social media profiles to drive audiences to their content and earn revenues for themselves and worthy causes.
The launch party, which was a very glamorous bash at London’s prestigious Grosvenor Hotel, was supported by legendary footballer Ian Wright and glamour girl, business woman and mum, Katie Price. The charities who were backing the event were the Willow Foundation who provide special days for seriously ill 16 – 40 year olds and the Bobby Moore Fund who raise raise vital funds for the research into bowel cancer and increases public awareness of the disease.
