There is a saying that everyone has a book inside them, but finding the time and the inspiration to put that book together means most of those books are never born. However, according to Blurb, that’s no excuse. Blurb are the guys that let anyone make a real book using the company’s software.
Here at GnG, we’ve been ‘umming’ and ‘ahhing’ about what our book is going to be, which is why we haven’t had a chance to test the service out yet. But when we learnt that Blurb was going to host a 12-day pop-up event in London with loads of free seminars and workshops hosted by a whole stack of inspirational people we thought we’d better get along and check it out. There are a whole host of speakers, from explorer and world-class photographer Martin Hartley through to the fabulous Martin Evening who has written several books about getting the best from Adobe Photoshop.

If you’re unsure about how easy it is to make your own book, one of the days features a series of book making seminars hosted by one bookmakerAruna Khanzada (check out her latest book Barney on the Bridge) and it’s designed to help out even the most novice budding authors.
Personally, we’ve always fancied living the life of Ugly Betty, so we’re hoping to catch Jamie Perlman, Art Director of British Vogue’s talk about her story in the fashion world with tips for those of us who fancy getting into it.
For a full list of all the events visit the Blurb events page where you can also RSVP for select sessions, or just drop into 22 Newman Street, W1T 1PH and we might see you there.
